A young James S. Vann began working with the Nell Lane Insurance Agency in the early 1960’s as a salesman for life, accident, and health insurance products. As Jim learned the industry, he began selling property and casualty products as well. In 1965 Jim purchased the agency from Nell Lane and James S. Vann Insurance Agency was born. The agency continued to grow through the 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s and became the preferred insurance agency in town. In 2004, Jim’s son, Mitchell, began his insurance career, working alongside his father until Jim retired. Mitch became the owner of the agency in 2012 and continues to grow the agency in to the premier insurance agency in Siler City and the surrounding area.
